GUNS N' ROSES Drummer Guests On KIMYA DAWSON CD + Velvet Revolver news
GUNS N' ROSES drummer Brian "Brain" Mantia, also of PRIMUS fame, has laid down the drum tracks on the new album from Kimya Dawson, one half of quirky anti-folk duo THE MOLDY PEACHES, according to MTV.com. The follow-up to last year's "I'm Sorry That Sometimes I'm Mean", which features THIRD EYE BLIND's Arion Salazar on bass and THIRD EYE BLIND singer Stephan Jenkins and his girlfriend Vanessa Carlton on backing vocals, is due in January.

Velvet Revolver guitarists Slash and David Kushner, along with bassist Duff McKagan, will be featured on the cover of an upcoming issue of Guitar World magazine. A sneak peek at two possible covers has been posted on Slash's official fan site.

Although VELVET REVOLVER were previously reported to have inked their RCA Records contract on Friday (August 22), the actual signing took place Monday (August 25). The band are currently in pre-production for their debut album, tentatively due in February.

In other news, a full-length version of VELVET REVOLVER's cover of PINK FLOYD's "Money", which can be heard in one scene and in the closing credits for director F. Gary Gray's remake of the 1969 British crime comedy "The Italian Job", has been posted online in Real Audio format at www.velvet-revolver.com/
