SLASH Discusses His MCFARLANE Toy

BBC Radio 1 spoke to guitarist Slash backstage before the VELVET REVOLVER gig in London on Thursday night (Sept. 2). Asked about the Slash figure that is being developed by McFarlane Toys (the same company that has previously produced toys for OZZY OSBOURNE and KISS), Slash responded, "It's not an action figure, you know, I don't have a Rambo thing going on, it's a model of me playing guitar which is more or less based around a photo that was taken from a video and they're just making a plastic thing out of it. How does it feel? I don't know man, I'll know a little bit better when I actually see it, you know."

VELVET REVOLVER: 'Fall To Pieces' Single Cover Posted Online

The cover artwork for VELVET REVOLVER's new single, "Fall to Pieces", has been posted online at the German VELVET REVOLVER fan site VelvetRevolverOnline.de.

There is no information on the exact contents of the DVD single, but according to BMG, the b-sides of the maxi single will consist of a studio version of CHEAP TRICK's "Surrender" and a live version of "Fall to Pieces". The "Fall to Pieces" video clip is also expected to surface on certain versions of the single.

In other news, VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum had the following to say to NME.com regarding the band's decision to play tracks by their former bands (GUNS N' ROSES and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS) during their live shows:

"I like that STONE TEMPLE PILOTS stuff, it's got a nice groove. It was great to play the GUNS N' ROSES songs too because even today they are really good songs.

"We played 'Negative Creep' at the end [of Wednesday night's show in Manchester, England] because we felt it was a good statement and we're all really big fans of NIRVANA.

VELVET REVOLVER are due to tour the U.S. later this year before they return for a series of dates in the U.K. in February.
