GN'R planning an European tour? + Axl mention in Sports Illustrated + VR/GN'R mention in the National Enquirer + Weiland switched rehab facilities once again
Looks like GN'R are planning on playing more shows in Europe this summer than just the previously announced Rock In Rio - Lisbon one.

A source at one of the European festivals confirms that there's a tour in the works.

Both festival and headlining shows are possible. No dates have leaked yet, but hopefully we'll have news on the show(s) soon.

A little Axl mention from Sports Illustrated (January 12th 2004). It's from a Robert Plant interview where he talks about playing tennis.

----

SI: How's Jimmy Page's tennis?

Plant: [Laughs.] Who? No, no, no. Jimmy's not a tennis player. I love the thought of that. We could play against that Guns N' Roses singer, Axl Rose. He looks like he'd be a good player. I can hold my own against other musicians. I played the guitarist from Judas Priest once. It was fun. But I had to beat him.

----

There's a little Velvet Revolver / GN'R mention in The National Enquirer, January 20, 2004 issue:

PRETTY PICKY: Or is it picky pretty? Model and Playboy Playmate Nikki Ziering plucks heartstrings in a bikini made from Guns N' Roses guitar picks at an LA fashion show. Twang!

----

The fashion show was the Susan Holmes' show where Velvet Revolver performed.

Scott Weiland has switched rehab facilities once again — but this time, the court does not approve. The former Stone Temple Pilots frontman/current Velvet Revolver singer was originally placed in court-ordered lockdown rehab at Grandview in Pasadena, California, and then, with the court's permission, switched to Las Encinas, also in Pasadena, last month. But then Weiland switched yet again to a non-lockdown facility called Genesis in Hollywood. During Weiland's probation status report hearing Friday (January 9), the court asked for a complete report about the switch, and a hearing to deal with the matter has been scheduled for January 23, also the date of Weiland's arraignment for his charge of driving under the influence of drugs (from his late October arrest).
